We are currently hiring on behalf of a leading defense contractor.Project Description: Seeking an FPGA/Firmware Engineer to join the Torpedo Systems Group, taking ownership of FPGA development supporting mission-critical torpedo systems. This is a full-lifecycle role, from architecture through verification, delivery, and field troubleshooting, with direct customer-facing responsibility.Key Responsibilities:Drive design, verification, and documentation for FPGA developments from concept to completionContribute to system architecture, simulation, and detailed design decisionsDefine module interfaces and lead key aspects of device design and simulationEvaluate the full process flow: high-level design, synthesis, place and route, timing, and power utilizationVerify test results and analyze system performancePresent requirements, designs, and results to management, engineering teams, and customersHelp shape and improve FPGA development processes across the organizationApply engineering standards, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycleSupport onsite installation, troubleshooting, and corrective actions for delivered productsMandatory Skills:U.S. Citizenship required; must be willing to obtain a DoD Secret ClearanceBachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related STEM field with 8+ years of experience, or Master's with 6+ yearsAbility to pass a background check (criminal, credit, education, employment, drug test)Prior experience contributing to new theories/methods in FPGA engineeringExpert knowledge of Software Source Control tools (Git preferred)Proven hardware troubleshooting experience (DMM, Oscilloscopes, Power Supplies, Function Generators)Experience working in a Linux environmentExperience writing in C and multithreaded programmingExperience with Real Time Operating SystemsExcellent written and verbal communication skills
