Project Engineer
Your tasks:Project Manager:Effectively support customers by managing customer projects from initial quotation through project completionInteract with customers on engineering design and any questions/problems they may have.Prepare proposal quotation and documentation.Prepare technical data such as qualification test procedures, acceptance test procedures, reports, component maintenance manuals, etc.Facilitator:Perform liaison function between engineering and all mechanical services operations for any related issues, problems, or improvements.Interact with vendors concerning parts they supply or propose to supply to company.Coordinate as required with internal groups including purchasing, quality control, sales, production, accounting personnel, metal finishing and assembly.Engineering:Generate and update process documentation, work Instructions, flow charts, etc.Review customer source control drawings, specification control drawings and other applicable specifications to determine requirements and/or feasibility of the component.Perform all necessary calculations such as stress analysis, performance analysis, and pressure drop and flow analysis, etc. as required.Interact with mechanical personnel to define and solve manufacturing/design issues and implement cost reduction ideas regarding company products.Participate in engineering and general design review as required.Prepare preliminary design proposal(s).Health Safety and Environmental:Demonstrate safe behavior, make safety observations, and support safety initiativesProvide support for safety investigation RC/CAQuality:Assist in root cause investigation, and follow up on corrective actionsKPI analysis, and tracking of corrective actionsOperations Excellence:Promote lean culture throughout the facilitySupport OPEX eventsSupport KPI analysis, and tracking of corrective actionsYour profile:Bachelor of engineering degree from four-year accredited college or university. Or a combination of equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of college degree.Experience working in a manufacturing environment a plusThe Project Engineer receives instruction, guidance, and direction from others with limited supervision.Project management experienceProficient with computers applications MS Office suite, CAD, including electronic document control and distributionExcellent interpersonal skills. Can communicate effectively with other engineers, customers, shop floor team members etc.Experience working with automation and robots is a plusExperience working with CMM is a plusBasic knowledge of Quality systems is a plusKnowledge and experience applying Lean tools is a plusCapable of teaching and coaching other team membersSix Sigma certification is a plusCWI certification is a plusExceptional multi-tasking skills and ability to independently manage multiple tasks.Ability to troubleshoot as necessary to achieve swift and accurate project results.Strong verbal and written communication skills, across different levels of the organization.Professional, personable & diplomaticAble to prioritize and act logically amid pressures & deadlines
