Project Engineer / Assistant Project Manager (Civil Construction)Location: San Francisco Bay AreaType: Full-TimeAbout the RoleWe are working with a well-established civil contractor specializing in site preparation, roadway improvements, concrete work, and infrastructure projects across the Bay Area. They are looking to bring on a Project Engineer or Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of large-scale municipal and commercial projects, including roadways, site development, and public works.This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to get hands-on exposure across the full project lifecycle with a company that has a strong pipeline of local work.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in the planning, coordination, and execution of civil construction projectsSupport Project Managers with subcontractor coordination, scheduling, and procurementTrack project costs, budgets, and change ordersReview drawings, specifications, and assist with RFIs and submittalsCoordinate with field teams to ensure work is progressing on schedule and to specHelp manage quality control, safety compliance, and documentationAttend project meetings with clients, consultants, and internal teamsProject TypesSite preparation & gradingRoadway / street improvementsConcrete and paving worksInfrastructure and public works projectsRequirements1–5 years' experience in civil construction (Project Engineer, Field Engineer, or APM level)Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred)Experience on sitework, paving, utilities, or public works projects is a big plusStrong understanding of construction drawings and project workflowsAbility to work both in the field and office environmentsStrong communication and organizational skillsNice to HaveExperience with Bay Area public works / municipal projectsFamiliarity with Caltrans, city specs, or union environmentsExposure to grading, excavation, or asphalt/concrete scopesWhat's on OfferCompetitive base salary (depending on experience)Strong pipeline of local Bay Area work (minimal travel)Opportunity to grow into a Project Manager roleHands-on exposure across multiple scopes of civil constructionWhy This RoleThis is a solid opportunity for someone early in their career who wants to get real project exposure quickly, rather than being siloed.
