Accounting Analyst II/III (G&P Revenue Accounting)

You will support core accounting functions while ensuring compliance with applicable requirements and regulations and serve as a trusted resource for internal and external partners. This role also focuses on identifying opportunities to optimize business processes through technology and automation, driving greater efficiency and cost effectiveness. Success in this position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to solve sophisticated problems, with more advanced expertise, judgment, and mentorship expectations applied at the senior (III) level.Your work will challenge you, and with our Core Values to guide you, you’ll quickly learn and grow with us.Responsibilities/Expectations:Performs assigned month-end activities including journal entries, account reconciliations, management reporting, SEC reporting and variance analysisPrepares, maintains and develops schedules, reports, and analyses for internal/external customersProvides requested documentation and clear explanations for audit processesParticipates in small projects with minimal mentorship and acts as a resource for colleagues with less experienceProcesses and analyses significant amounts of data, including issues and transactionsOther duties as assignedGathering & Processing Revenue Responsibilities:Implement monthly, quarterly, yearly, and invoice closing cyclesAnalyze monthly fluctuations in volumes and activity and clearly explain variancesUnderstand and comply with SOX controlsAbility to work overtime, as needed, during critical monthly and quarterly closing and reporting periodsEducation/Years of Experience:Required: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; and 2+ years of accounting experience in the energy industry (Level II) or 4+ years (Level III). Preferred: CPAOther Requirements:Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priorityProficient use of Microsoft Office applicationsPromotes effective cross-functional communication and collaboration within the team and across departmentsStrong analytical, problem-solving and financial skillsPreferred: Familiarity with US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)Preferred: Experience with Oracle, Manages the planning and direction of more complex activities associated with maintaining the ledger accounts and financial statements. Prepares, records, analyzes, and reports accounting transactions, including coordination and administration assignments with limited guidance. Uses mature judgment to select alternative solutions to complex problems. Provides functional advice and training to less experienced accountant positions. Works under limited direction.
