Laboratory Technician (2nd Shift) (Fort Wayne)

Element has an opportunity for an *2nd Shift* Inorganics Laboratory Technician to join our growing team in Fort Wayne, IN. As a member of the Inorganics department at our Environmental Testing Laboratory in Fort Wayne, IN, the Technician position performs a variety of routine and non-routine assignments within the department to ensure timely and accurate testing is performed. The technician must be proficient in a number of core business skills including but not limited to compliance with established safety rules, code of conduct, and company policies and procedures.Responsibilities:Routinely work with client samples, laboratory instruments, chemicals, and reagentsPerform tests as directed by internal standard operating procedures, published methods, and laboratory accreditationsOperate under the supervision of more senior test technicians, chemists, and/or department managersComplete logs and record test dataManage the functionality and calibration of laboratory equipmentClean glassware and dispose of samplesRequirements:Working knowledge of laboratory safetyAbility to work independentlyHS diploma or GED certificate preferred. College or vocational school coursework welcomed0-2 years' experience in a testing related fieldBasic understanding of testing conceptsPossess computer skillsAbility to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry a plus
