Crate Builder Location: Brea, CAPay: $20.00Shift: Monday - Friday, 6:00 am - 2:30 pmPosition Overview:Fabricates wooden crates/pallets to prepare custom commercial ranges for delivery. We are willing to train for the right candidate who is eager to learn.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Building pallets and cratesOperate saws, drill presses, routers, sanders, shapers, milling machines, miter saw, panel saw, skill saw, jig saw and power tools and planers.Inspects product to determine size, materials to be used, and types of supports and braces to be used.Lays out dimensions on materials with ruler, measuring tape, and pencil.Cut wood to size, and assembles pallet.Ensure compliance with shipping orders.Bolt heavy pieces to bottom of container or skidWraps and pads product with packing material.Build crate around large or odd shaped articles.Attaches identification labels or stencils containing such information as shipping destination, weight, and type of product contained on crate.Repairs broken crates.QUALIFICATIONS:At least 2 years of experience in woodworking or finish carpentry - cutting, sanding, finishing, and assembling wood and metal1 year of wood shop experience.Ability to operate and utilize hand and power toolsAccurately measure and calculate size of pallets/crate neededPhysical Requirements Position requires the ability to stand, stoop, bend throughout the work dayMust be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.High School Diploma or higher preferred
