Senior Accountant
Seeking an experienced Senior Accountant with strong multi-entity accounting and QuickBooks expertise to support a fast-growing law firm environment in New York. We are in an exciting period of growth and are modernizing our accounting infrastructure - including a migration from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online and the expansion of our Ramp and Clio platforms.The OpportunityWe are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to take ownership of a defined portfolio of entities and accounting functions. This is a hands-on, high-responsibility role working directly with the CFO. You will be the primary accountant for multiple affiliated entities across different business lines. The role suits someone who thrives in professional services, is comfortable owning multiple sets of books simultaneously, and takes pride in clean, timely financials.Monthly / OngoingMaintain separate QuickBooks books for each affiliated entity; ensure monthly close is completed accurately and on time for each.Record distributions, recoveries, and fee calculations for firm-related entities.Maintain trust account ledgers and prepare quarterly trust statements.Process payroll journal entries and reconcile payroll accounts across affiliated entities.Assist with bank reconciliations, internal financial reports, audit preparation, and year-end close.Support the CFO with ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects.Required4+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a law firm, professional services firm, or multi-entity environment.Strong QuickBooks proficiency - QuickBooks Online preferred; QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise also considered.Proven ability to manage multiple entities and sets of books simultaneously without errors.Experience with trust accounting or similar restricted/segregated account management.Highly organized and detail-oriented; able to work independently with minimal supervision.Professional communication skills - comfortable following up with attorneys on coding and receipt questions.DetailsLocation: New York, NY - on-site, Midtown office.Benefits: Health insurance, 401(k), paid time off.Reports directly to the CFO.
