Reliability EngineerHouston TexasRelocation AvailableA specialty chemical manufacturer is looking for a Reliability Engineer to take ownership of reliability and asset integrity across several of it's US Plants. Based in Houston this role carries multi-site scope and is critical in how the business protects uptime and asset life.The OpportunityYou'll be the go-to mechanical reliability expert for the sites in your portfolio, building out predictive maintenance capability and keeping the mechanical integrity program running at full compliance. You'll shape how equipment health is tracked, how failures are prevented, and how capital is spent on aging or critical assets.What You'll Be DoingBuild and run a PdM programKeep the mechanical integrity program on track, partnering with plant leadership to close out compliance gapsOwn relationships with inspection contractors and coordinate insurance-related auditsReview fitness-for-service work and repair planning for tanks, piping, and heat exchangersUse equipment history, cost data, and failure trends to shape long-term asset replacement planning and spare parts strategyLead a "bad actor" equipment program, tracking and resolving chronic problem assetsFeed reliability data into root cause investigationsInfluence new equipment and project design from a reliability and maintainability standpoint, setting up criticality rankings and asset strategies in SAPReport out on cost savings, cost avoidance, and PdM compliance metricsWhat You BringA mechanical engineering degree and 5+ years working predictive maintenance on mechanical equipment in a chemical or petrochemical environment5+ years assessing static equipment (tanks, piping, heat exchangers) against ASME, API, or STI codesComfort being out in the field, not just behind a deskStrong organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple prioritiesWorking knowledge of Excel, Outlook, and PowerPointWillingness to travel as neededVibration analysis, oil analysis, thermography, or ultrasound certification (or equivalent experience) is a plusSAP CMMS experience is a strong plusOpeness to business travel as requiredAbility to work in the US without sponsorship
