COMPENSATION: Hourly wages starting $11 per hour, based on experience
and skills.
JOB SUMMARY: Educators facilitate diverse day and overnight educational programs at Angelic
Organics Learning Center’s main farm location in Caledonia, IL, with a focus on organic farming,
farm-to-table cooking and environmental education. Educators also facilitate custom programs
including work projects and tours during special events. Some educators may receive additional
employment through our summer camp series, DIY overnight Farm Stays, or specialty programs.
The 200 acre Angelic Organics campus serves as our outdoor classroom, including vegetable
fields, cover crop fields, pasture, orchard, livestock, and wild spaces. Our programs are
experiential, and strive to engage mind, body and heart in the life of the farm. We seek to honor
the knowledge and experience of all of our program participants, and to encourage personal
reflection and positive actions. Most programs include a whole farm tour, which is an experiential
introduction to the farm emphasizing how soils, animals, plants and people interact on an organic
farm. Longer programs may incorporate work projects, nutrition and cooking, animal chores, food
systems literacy, and workshops on organic gardening, sustainable agriculture, or livestock care.
Program length varies, including half day, full day, multi-day camping programs, and premium
overnight farm stays at Angelic Organics Lodge, which houses up to 30 visitors at a time.
Angelic Organics Learning Center helps urban and rural people build local food systems. The
Learning Center offers opportunities to grow healthy food and a better quality of life, connect with

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Program Facilitation and Delivery Weekly schedule ranges between 6-35 hours during peak
spring and fall seasons, with seasonably variable hours at other times of year. Educators may be
involved in all program types including working with custom groups, overnight camping programs
and specialty skills workshops.
SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS may be assigned, as needed. Reasonable accommodations

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES which may be representative but not all inclusive of
those commonly associated with this position.
Working knowledge and experience within the following areas: Biodynamic and/or
organic farming practices, livestock care, farm ecology, organic and conventional food
systems, nutrition, cooking with whole foods, and other skills for sustainability.
Curriculum development skills are desired.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE an equivalent combination of education, training and
experience will be considered.
Hands-on experience working on a farm, nature center and/or with youth.
Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Agriculture, Recreation or related studies or 3-5 years
experience in a related position desired but not required.
LICENSING/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Training and courses will be provided by AOLC if
needed.
Valid CPR/ First Aid Certificate
A Safe Serv Food Handler License, for culinary sessions and some overnight programs.
COMPETENCIES to perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following

Skills in facilitating experiential education in cross- cultural environments, and with
multiple age groups.
Ability to attend to the safety of participants, and the care and respect of farm animals,
plants, and the land.
Basic computer skills for communicating by e-mail and use of Word and Excel.
Highly organized with good communications skills
Bilingual candidates (English & Spanish) are encouraged.
Able to be flexible and hold standards.
Willing to be hands-on and get dirty, uncomfortable, and/or silly.

Regular noise level in the work environment includes outdoor, farm and group noises.
