Job Overview
ZenaTech is seeking a Level 1 Drone Engineer to support development and testing of drone technologies, programming drone software, conducting research on drones and robotics, and collaborating with aerospace engineering teams.
This is a full-time, on-site role in Mesa, AZ.
Key Responsibilties
Drone Development & Testing:
Develop, assemble, and test drone hardware and software components.
Perform routine and diagnostic maintenance on drone systems.
Conduct flight tests and document performance data and outcomes.
Identify and troubleshoot technical issues in drone systems and components.
Ensure all drone builds meet quality assurance standards prior to deployment.
Software & Programming:
Program and configure drone flight software and control systems.
Support integration of sensors, payloads, and communication modules.
Assist in developing automation scripts and software tools for drone operations.
Collaborate w• ith software engineers to implement and test firmware updates.
Research & Collaboration:
Conduct applied research on drone technologies, robotics, and UAV systems.
Collaborate with aerospace engineering teams on design and development projects.
Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging drone technologies.
Contribute to documentation of research findings, test results, and technical specifications.
Safety & Compliance:
Adhere to all drone regulations, safety standards, and company safety policies.
Conduct pre-flight and post-flight safety inspections.
Maintain accurate logs of flight operations, maintenance activities, and incidents.
Promote safe work habits and a safety-first culture within the team.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field (Required)
Knowledge of drones, UAV systems, and robotics
Technical assembly experience with drone or mechanical systems
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of drone regulations and safety standards
FAA Part 107 Certification with minimum 200 hours of flight experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
