Sr. Battery Test Engineer

We are dedicated to cultivating an equitable and inclusive environment that embraces our differences, and supports and celebrates all of our team members.What you'll do:Perform Electrical & Environmental testing of prototype and certified batteries for the eVTOL aircraftCollaborate with teams across the company to develop test plans and execute on those plans for flight critical hardwarePerform Acceptance Testing on Modules,Battery Packs, and Charge Port AssembliesDesign sub-scale test rigs for mechanical and environmental tests requiring pcba/hardware and software developmentDesign and deploy custom test equipment and controllersDesign bespoke test equipment and test automation software to support cross functional battery R&D testingMechanical design of test rigs in NX CAD softwareDevelopment of LabVIEW, Python, and other test development toolsAnalyze test data and share with engineering teamsDevelop automated test equipment as neededDevelop novel test procedures and execute testingCreate reports for submission to the FAA.What you need:BS in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field8+ years of experience in a battery design, testing environment, or equipment designExperience testing Battery Pack Electrically & MechanicallyExperience with high voltage systems: cars, aircraft, etc.Experience with LabVIEWExperience with a wide variety of DAQ systems (National Instruments is a plus)Experience with MATLAB and PythonDemonstrated project execution experienceDemonstrated knowledge of hands-on experience with electrical & mechanical systemsPositive can-do attitudeBonus Qualifications:Ability to travel to test facilitiesExperience with Battery ManufacturingHands-on experience wearing multiple hats in a fast-paced environmentDemonstrated ability to work independently with minimal direction and supervisionProficient in DO-160G, DO-311A, UN 38.3 or applicable test standards for test planning, setup, and executionExperience with Chroma, Keysight, National Instruments, and/or other Test SystemsExperience with Environmental test equipmentAt Archer we aim to attract, retain, and motivate talent that possess the skills and leadership necessary to grow our business. We drive a pay-for-performance culture and reward performance that supports the Company's business strategy. For this position we are targeting a base pay between $144,000 - $189,000.
