Pediatric Personal Care Attendant (PCA)Solaria Care Redding is looking for an energetic person with a big heart to become a personal care attendant (PCA). CNAs are also welcome to join our team. All training is paid and done on site. **MUST be available to work Thursday and Friday PM shift (especially between 3-10pm), and every Saturday with Very,Very occasional Sundays**. (Opportunities to pick up more hours are available.)Responsibilities include:Assisting clients with ADLs. Obtaining vital signs. Providing enrichment activities. Working alongside nurses to perform tasks as delegated within scope of practice. This job would be working with both the pediatric population and adults with specialized healthcare needs. Facility cleaning/sanitization per policies. Ability to maintain and follow all COVID protocols. Turn and position the client in a wheel chair or bed. Assist with transfers and ambulation. Feed or assist the client with oral and tube feedings, prepare meals. Keep the client care area clean, free of hazards, wash laundry, sweep & mop, and change linens. Assist clients in the participation of independent and group activities. Qualifications/RequirementsHigh School Diploma or equivalent Completed and Clean Background Check CPR certification and current first aid or within 2 weeks of hire. Professional in appearance and work ethic. At least 2 verifiable references Fully Covid Vaccinated preferred Ability to lift, carry, bend, walk and reach with no restrictions, to perform client care and/or transfer of clients up to 50 lbs. Ability to communicate effectively with other staff, clients, caregivers and the general public. Have reliable transportation with the ability to do split shifts between two locations. Must be flexible in your availability Able to work afternoon/evenings. Able to Work Saturdays . The Personal Care Attendant receives all training on site to become competent in providing direct client care under the direction of a skilled nurse. A PCA is very similar to a CNA but is custom trained by our staff to fulfill the needs of children with specialized health care needs. We encourage all CNAs to apply! During facility Respites we are open 24 hours from Thursday to Saturday, depending on the building. Closed on Sundays and most major holidays unless fulfilling a special request. Afternoon/Evening schedules can be from noon to 8 or 1-9:30 (6-8 hour shifts) Reports To: Nursing Supervisor or Registered Nurse Compensation Hourly - $18-22 per hour depending on experience. Paid Training. Paid Sick Leave - 40 hours per year. Paid Time Off - increasing with seniority up to 5 weeks per year.
