Photo Editor & Album Designer
About Us
The Bomshell Experience is a high-end boudoir portrait studio known for luxury service, artistic excellence, and transformative client experiences. We create museum-quality artwork, handcrafted albums, and custom portraits designed to empower the women we serve. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a skilled and detail-obsessed Photo Editor & Album Designer to join our team.
Position Overview
We’re looking for someone with an exceptional eye—someone who can bring out the best in each portrait while maintaining the integrity and consistency of our brand aesthetic.
This is a hybrid role blending technical editing, album design, creative judgment, and client communication. You must be able to deliver a high-end client experience while confidently protecting artistic boundaries and studio standards.
You’ll collaborate with photographers, reveal specialists, and our production team to ensure every final product represents the excellence we are known for.
Key Responsibilities
Edit client galleries using Bomshell Experience presets and retouching standards
Perform clean, high-end skin editing with natural texture retention
Design luxury albums and wall art layouts (Fundy or SmartAlbums preferred)
Prepare print-ready packages and place orders with production partners
Communicate with clients regarding album approvals and minor revision rounds
Reinforce revision limits and guide clients back to brand-aligned expectations
Maintain consistent color, tone, and style across all client collections
Uphold organized workflows, file systems, and delivery timelines
Collaborate with the team for quality control and project flow
Ideal Candidate
You’re someone who:
Has 2+ years of photo editing experience (boudoir/portrait experience is a major plus).
Is fluent in Adobe Lightroom + Photoshop.
Has a portfolio demonstrating retouching and layout skills.
Is naturally detail-oriented and thrives on precision.
Communicates professionally, clearly, and confidently.
Can maintain brand authority and uphold artistic standards with clients.
Works well in a fast-paced studio environment.
Is organized, proactive, and dependable with deadlines.
This Role Is Not For You If:
You take client requests literally without filtering them through artistic standards.
You can’t confidently tell a client “that retouch would compromise the artwork.”
You over-edit or rely heavily on smoothing filters.
You prefer working in your own style over following a luxury brand aesthetic.
You need constant reminders or micromanagement.
You struggle to stay organized or manage multiple projects.
You dislike feedback or refining work for consistency.
You get overwhelmed in high-volume or detail-driven workflows.
You want a role where “good enough” is acceptable — here, excellence is the minimum.
Compensation
To ensure transparency and align expectations with industry norms, compensation for this role reflects Syracuse’s creative market rates for skilled mid-level editors and designers and is based on experience. The right full-time candidate can expect to make $45,000 - $55,000 per year.
Part-time schedules will be scaled proportionally. Project-based compensation (per album or per gallery) may be available depending on workflow.
Perks such as a complimentary photoshoot experience add additional non-monetary value.

2+ years of portrait editing experience
Strong portfolio (before/after samples preferred)
Mastery of Lightroom + Photoshop
Familiarity with Fundy Designer or SmartAlbums
