Engineer/Drafter - Millwork
About the Company
Our client is a leading custom architectural millwork and fabrication partner delivering highly engineered, design-driven interior environments for specialty projects.
As the company continues to expand its project portfolio and technical capabilities, they are seeking an Engineer / Drafter to support the execution of high-quality custom millwork projects from concept through production.
The Role
The Engineer / Drafter will support the engineering and production teams by preparing shop drawings, submittals, and release packages for custom millwork projects. This role is critical to ensuring design intent, accuracy, and smooth handoff from design to production.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare accurate shop drawings and submittals using AutoCAD and Microvellum (or similar software)
Interpret and apply construction documents to ensure compliance with project scope
Produce custom construction details where required
Process and release jobs through AutoCAD, Microvellum, saw optimization, and CAM software
Collaborate with engineering, project management, and production teams to meet deadlines
Maintain knowledge of materials, hardware, and fabrication methods used in millwork manufacturing
Track and prioritize assigned tasks to ensure timely completion
Provide written documentation, technical communication, and as-built drawings
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Wood Technology, or related field preferred
Experience drafting with AutoCAD and Microvellum
Ability to read and interpret architectural and construction drawings
Knowledge of millwork production methods and fabrication techniques
3+ years of architectural millwork drafting/detailing experience preferred
Familiarity with AWI (Architectural Woodwork Institute) Standards a plus
Strong communication and organizational skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including intermediate Excel skills

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
