Salary : $62,423.00 - $78,029.00 Annually Location : Yorktown, VA Job Type: Full-time Job Number: 111BAT-2148 Department: Information Technology Division: INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY Opening Date: 05/27/2026 Closing Date: 6/12/2026 5:00 PM Eastern Description Responsible for maintaining application configuration, testing, and supporting specific information systems across multiple departments and/or agencies. Primary help desk support for all customer related supported information systems request. Implements data accuracy, process functionality and process efficiency. Utilizes data collection interfaces and documents, maintains and reports on information stored in the system. Implement procedures for acquiring and recovering data, including all aspects of data entry and report generation. Responsible for providing daily training and technical support to customers. Assists with maintaining application configuration to include end user accounts and customer accounts where applicable. Assists with development of training materials. Assists with onboarding of customers. Provides group and individual training and coaching to users. Supports the team with testing the information systems in support of enhancements and upgrades, workflow changes, and troubleshooting end user or application issues. Performs support for users of the assigned information systems. Escalates requests when needed in support of the information systems team. Responds to inquiries from the public, County staff, other entities, vendors, and consultants, as well as state and federal agencies. Required to protect confidential information that may include Personally Identifiable Information and other sensitive information. Assists other County departments and agencies with developing business practices that ensure data accuracy and enhance employee efficiency. This includes developing dashboards and reports to support customer needs and job functions. Performs testing on the customer interface aspects of the software functionality. Creates and updates documentation for specific information systems. Assists with creating and maintaining custom and standardized data files, statistics, reports, and analyses for County departments and agencies. Minimum Qualifications Associate's degree is preferred with 1-2 years of experience in computers or a related field; or any equivalent combination of education and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Possession of a valid driver's license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia. This job is contingent upon successful completion of pre-employment checks to include criminal history, background and DMV record checks. Supplemental Information Working knowledge of business applications, information systems, and system support processes. Working knowledge of relational databases and data management concepts. Working knowledge of reporting tools and software used for data analysis and reporting. Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy. Ability to document technical information in an accurate and user-friendly format. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with technical and non-technical users. Ability to train users on applications and clearly demonstrate software systems to customers. Ability to troubleshoot issues and learn new systems quickly. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with multiple departments and agencies. The earliest start date for this position is July 13, 2026.
