Job Title: Design Engineer
Location: Tulsa, OK 74120
Pay: $75–$90 per hour
Job Type: Contract
Start Date: Immediate
Key Responsibilities
Develop composite ply definitions, ply layouts, flat patterns, and ply splicing in CATIA V5.
Support design activities for large aerospace composite structures.
Create vertex definitions, composite design deliverables, and manufacturing support outputs.
Work with graphite epoxy laminates, honeycomb core structures, ply ramps, contour transitions, and autoclave‑cured components.
Review assigned parts with engineering and manufacturing teams prior to release.
Support creation of Mylars, shop aids, and other production‑support documentation as needed.
Make independent design decisions related to ply layout, splicing strategy, and composite manufacturability.
Collaborate with program management, design leadership, manufacturing, and engineering stakeholders.
Support a fast‑moving aerospace program with immediate design bandwidth needs.
Required Qualifications
Hands‑on CATIA V5 design experience.
Composite design experience in aerospace, defense, space, UAV, rotorcraft, or advanced manufacturing environments.
Experience with composite ply design, ply definition, flat pattern development, or ply splicing.
Ability to work independently and own assigned design scope.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, models, specifications, and composite layup requirements.
Strong understanding of aerospace composite structures and manufacturing considerations.
U.S. Citizenship required.
Must be able to provide citizenship status and country of birth for program compliance.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience using CATIA V5 Composite Part Design / CPD.
Experience with Fibersim.
Experience with graphite epoxy composite structures.
Experience with aluminum honeycomb core construction.
Experience with autoclave‑cured aerospace components.
Experience creating Mylars, shop aids, or composite manufacturing documentation.
Background supporting space, drone, defense, military aircraft, rotorcraft, or advanced aerospace structures.
Prior experience with large composite parts, structural assemblies, nacelles, interiors, thrust reversers, UAV structures, or launch vehicle components.
