Inventory Analytics & Reporting Analyst

OverviewA leading organization is seeking an Inventory Analytics & Reporting Analyst to own and support inventory reserve analysis and reporting for an industrial components business. This role partners closely with Finance, Product Management, Operations, and Sourcing to analyze slow moving, excess, and obsolete (E&O) inventory, develop insights, and support data driven decision making. The position blends recurring monthly/quarterly responsibilities with ad hoc analytical support in a fast paced, cross functional environment.ResponsibilitiesInventory Reserve OwnershipLead monthly and quarterly reviews of inventory reserves, including slow moving, excess, and obsolete (E&O) inventoryAnalyze aging inventory data and provide reserve recommendations to FinancePartner with Product Management and Operations to understand usage patterns, obsolescence risks, and business drivers impacting reserve levelsTrack inventory aging trends and support initiatives to reduce reserve exposureReporting & InsightsMaintain and enhance inventory and productivity dashboards, trackers, and reportsAnalyze trends and deliver clear, concise insights to support strategic decision makingProvide data extracts, visualizations, and analysis for leadership presentations and business reviewsRespond to ad hoc requests related to cost savings, aging inventory, spend visibility, and productivityCross Functional CollaborationWork closely with Finance, Product Management, Operations, and Sourcing to validate data and align on prioritiesSupport business productivity targets through accurate tracking and reportingBuild strong working relationships to effectively operate within a matrixed organizationRequired QualificationsBachelor s degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related field2+ years of experience in analytics, finance, supply chain, or reporting rolesAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data validation, formulas)Experience working with large datasets and translating data into actionable insightsStrong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills with high attention to detailClear and effective written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage recurring responsibilities while handling ad hoc analysis requestsExperience using ERP systems (SAP or equivalent) for data review or procurement activitiesPreferred QualificationsExperience with inventory reserve processes, including E&O analysisWorking knowledge of Power BI, Tableau , or similar dashboarding toolsUnderstanding of procurement workflows and cost drivers in manufacturing or distribution environmentsExposure to cost accounting conceptsExperience collaborating with Finance and Product Management teamsFamiliarity with continuous improvement or Lean methodologies (e.g., Yellow Belt training)
