Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,990 - $2,140
Location: Sierra Vista, AZ 85635 (Sierra Vista, Arizona)
Position: Hospital Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) – Inpatient Acute Rehab Unit (ARU)
Contract Duration: 13 weeks (travel SLP contract)
Shift: 8 Hour Days (07:30 AM – 4:00 PM)
Hours per Week: 40 (32 hours guaranteed per week)
Weekend Coverage: Rotating (inpatient weekend coverage)
Call Requirements: None
Patient Population: Adult and Geriatric (stroke, brain injury, complex medical patients)
Electronic Health Record: Cerner, NetHealth (EHR documentation experience preferred)
Dress Code: Any color scrubs or business casual (slacks and polo)
Job Requirements
Active Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license in Arizona (required)
Minimum 1 year of experience in a hospital, inpatient rehab, or acute care setting
Required education per state licensure (Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology typical)
Strong time management, clinical assessment, and documentation skills
Flexibility, adaptability, and willingness to float between inpatient and ARU
Team player with strong interdisciplinary communication skills
Preferred: ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) and prior Cerner or NetHealth experience
Responsibilities
Provide speech-language pathology services to adult and geriatric patients in the Acute Rehab Unit and inpatient settings
Conduct evaluations, clinical assessments, and differential diagnosis for communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders (dysphagia, aphasia, cognitive-linguistic deficits)
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and progressive care goals for inpatient rehab patients
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including PT, OT, nursing, physicians, and case management to optimize patient outcomes
Document patient progress and treatment using Cerner and NetHealth EHR systems in accordance with facility standards
Float between inpatient units and the Acute Rehab Unit as needed and participate in rotating weekend coverage
Maintain professional standards, follow facility policies, and adhere to the dress code
