Service Support Specialist This role provides exemplary customer service in all areas of helping client families following the loss of a loved one. A sense of urgency, empathy, attention to detail and strong communication skills are required to succeed and fulfill customer needs. The Specialist works closely with funeral directors and location managers to ensure all arrangements are initiated and completed.Job Responsibilities Meets regularly with Funeral Director(s) to ensure customer needs are metFrequently communicates with families to coordinate activitiesTakes first calls and dispatches removal teamsCollects vital information, files death certificates and insurance claimsSchedules appointments for Funeral DirectorsDesigns and prints memorials; creates, scans, and corrects arrangement documentsOrders merchandise, flowers, urnsSchedules services including coordinating with churches, cemeteries and staffAssists with setting up funeral/visitation areas and take downAssists during funeral services and eventsAssists with dressing, casketing and preparing the deceased for viewingTransport human remains to the Crematory facilityDelivers ashes from Crematory to Funeral HomeAssists with removalsMay be required to ensure company vehicles are clean and fueled, prior to and after servicesAdheres to all Company and Regulatory requirementsPerforms other administrative duties for the location when time permitsMinimum Requirements EducationHigh School diploma or equivalentCertification/LicenseGood driving record and valid driver's licenseExperience2 years of experience in an office clerical or customer service capacity requiredExperience working in a customer-focused and fast-paced professional environment requiredFuneral industry experience preferred but not requiredKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesStrong knowledge of computers and softwareAbove average communication skillsHigh level of compassion and integrityProblem solving skillsAbility to multi task and set prioritiesAbility to maintain confidentialityAbility to work beyond standard business hours including weekendsDetail orientedProfessional team playerPro-actively seeks out tasksMotivated, enthusiastic work ethicWork Environment Mostly works indoors during all seasons and weather conditionsOccasional work outdoorsLimited amount of local and/or multiple location traveling requiredProfessional dress is required when in contact with familiesWork Postures Sitting continuously for many hours per day, up to 6 hours per dayOccasional periods of time standing, up to 3 hours per dayClimbing stairs to access buildingsPhysical Demands Physical effort requiring manual dexterity is required, includes paperwork, calculators, computers and phone usageAbility to lift up to 20 poundsWork Hours Working beyond "standard" business hours as the need arises
