DescriptionSTATEMENT OF PURPOSEUnder the direct supervision of the Nutrition Services Supervisor, the Nutrition Services Cafeteria Aide/Float performs a variety of cafe food service and stocking duties.This is a parttime, benefitted position working 40 hours per two week pay period. Hours are Monday - Friday from 10:00am - 2:00pm with no weekends and holidays as needed.Job FunctionsStocks café food containers, utensils, cups, etc. as needed.Stocks café condiments and napkin holders on tables in seating area.Serves hot entrees to café guests during the lunch meal from 11 am – 1 pm, practicing proper portion control techniques. Cleans up the salad bar and refills items for the supper meal after the lunch meal is finished. Helps the café employee complete the closing task list each shift.Interacts frequently with customers and employees of various age groups (adolescents, adults, and geriatrics) while serving and working in the café. Interacts in a positive, friendly and helpful fashion with all café customers and department employees.Miscellaneous ResponsibilitiesConsistently uses AIDET communication skills with patients, guests and employees.Ensures work area is kept in a clean, neat and orderly manner.Contributes to overall Nutrition Services Department and ever growing services.Assures that personal behavior complies with the hospital’s Standards of Behavior at all times.Performs other related duties as assigned or requested by department supervisor or manager.
