Project Manager - Design

Job Title: Project Design Manager Reports to: Chief Engineer Department: Engineering FLSA: Non-exempt Status: Full Time Summary This role is a Truss and Structural CAD Designer in our Design Division. The position is responsible for the management of multi-family designs of uplift and hold down systems for wood framed structures. From initiation of each project, through design and finally field installation, the Truss and Structural CAD Designer is fully involved. Primary Responsibilities: Use AutoCAD to create shop drawings for wood frame multi-family construction project submittals. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of shear wall and roof truss design. Complete structural material takeoffs. Work with structural engineers and their staff on getting approval of shop drawings for construction. Serve as a point of contact for customers relating to inquiries about our products, designs and field installations. Organize, coordinate and manage each assigned project through completion. Qualifications: Degree or in the process of obtaining a Construction/CAD design related degree Intermediate to expert skill in AutoCAD, Understanding of roof truss design components Experience with wood frame, multi-family design/drafting Knowledge of construction fasteners and installation methods Estimating experience preferred Must be able to read and comprehend Structural, Architectural and Truss layout plans Experienced with AutoCAD and Revit Proficient with Microsoft Programs (Outlook, Excel, Word) Location: Onsite in Jacksonville, FL- No relocation allowance.
