Vice President, Production Support

Responsibilities
Experience supporting production applications in a 24x7/always-on environment, including on-call rotation support.
Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills across application, OS, and infrastructure layers; able to drive complex incidents to resolution.
Hands-on experience with monitoring, alerting, and observability (metrics, logs, traces), including defining SLIs/SLOs and tuning alerts to reduce noise.
Problem management experience, including post-incident reviews, corrective/preventive actions, and tracking issues to closure.
Release and change management experience (production readiness reviews, deployment validation, rollback planning, and change controls/PTO).
Capacity and performance management skills; ability to identify bottlenecks, forecast demand, and recommend scaling improvements.
Ability to partner effectively with development, QA, operations, and infrastructure teams; clear written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Documentation skills, including creation of runbooks, operating procedures, architectural diagrams, and design specifications.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. EXPERIENCE: Typically 6-10 years of experience. SKILLS: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on client service; excellent communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively across teams.
AI: Demonstrated skill in AI prompting and the practical use of AI tools to improve development productivity, problem-solving, and support workflows.
Experience: 12+ years in production support (L2) for both mainframe and Java technologies.
Mainframe: Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, and VSAM.
Java: Proficiency in Java, RESTful Web Services, SQL, and Unix/Linux environments.
Tools: Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, AppD), ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow), and version control (e.g., Git/Windsurf).
Soft Skills: Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills, with experience in high-pressure 24x7 environments.
