Senior Software Engineer - Frontend

Robotics Platform Frontend DeveloperOur project is developing a new class of robotic platforms for social interaction, with a potentially massive market opportunity with positive social impact. Your role is to develop frontend tools to enable a diverse set of expert and non-expert users to develop content for these robotics platforms. These tools will have wide impact, internally supporting a substantial global effort that includes locations in Silicon Valley, Boston, Shenzhen, and Beijing, as well as enabling external content creation for the platform. You will be responsible for whole frontend development pipelines including design, prototyping, evaluation, and production.Job ResponsibilitiesDevelop frontend tools for robotics development supporting a diverse range of users, including but not limited to: Interaction design GUIs for non-technical content creators Visualization and debug tools for robotics perception and controls systems Mobile companion applicationsDesign and implement intuitive and performant graphical user interfacesResearch and select appropriate frameworks to meet product requirementsCollaborate with roboticists and designers on frontend architecture design and integrationEvaluate interfaces, and synthesize user feedback into new requirements to drive continuous iteration and improvementWrite documentation and tests for frontend systemRequirements for position:BS in Computer science or related field2+ years of industry frontend software development experienceJavaScript, HTML, CSS, web development skillsFamiliarity with web frontend frameworksUnderstanding of UI design principlesPhotoshop, Illustrator, wireframe / mockup skillsWork authorization in the USPreferred qualifications:Familiarity with animation frameworks (e.g. Flash, After Effects, TouchDesigner)Familiarity with game design toolsJava and Android development experienceExperience with WebGL graphics developmentExperience designing and running experiments to evaluate UIsInterest and experience in AI / robotics
