This role ensures our employees have a smooth, well-supported experience with benefits while keeping the company compliant across federal, state, and local employment requirements. You'll be a trusted partner to the VP of People and a go-to resource for employees and leaders on benefits and HR compliance matters.This role plays a critical part in protecting the company, supporting our people, and ensuring employees feel informed and cared for when it comes to their benefits. You'll have ownership, visibility, and the opportunity to meaningfully shape how we deliver benefits and stay compliant as we scale.As a Human Resources Manager at Cardamom, you will:Benefits AdministrationOwn day-to-day administration of all employee benefit programs (medical, life, disability, retirement, wellness, etc.)Partner with brokers and vendors on renewals, plan changes, enrollments, and issue resolutionLead annual open enrollment, including employee communications, education, and system configurationEnsure accurate benefits data, eligibility tracking, and payroll integrationsServe as the primary point of contact for employee benefit questions and supportCompliance & Risk ManagementEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations (ACA, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, etc.)Manage benefits-related compliance filings, audits, and reportingMaintain and update HR policies, employee handbook, and required postings for all states we operateMonitor regulatory changes and proactively recommend updates to programs or processesHR Operations & SupportPartner with Delivery Management on employee lifecycle processes (onboarding and background checks, offboarding, leaves of absence, customer onboarding requirements)Support workers' compensation, unemployment claims, and related documentationMaintain accurate and confidential employee records within our Rippling HRISIdentify opportunities to streamline benefits and compliance processes through systems and automationCollaboration & Continuous ImprovementWork closely with Finance, Operations, and external partnersProvide insights and recommendations to improve employee experience, cost management, and risk mitigationContribute to broader people initiatives as the organization growsOur idealHuman ResourcesManagerwill have:4-7+ years of experience in Human Resources, with a strong focus on benefits and complianceHands-on experience administering benefits and managing open enrollmentComprehensive working knowledge of U.S. employment laws and benefits regulationsExperience working with HRIS and benefits administration platformsStrong attention to detail, organization, and follow-throughAbility to explain complex topics clearly and empathetically to employeesBonus points for experience with the following:PHR, SHRM-CP, or related certificationExperience in a growing and/or consulting-based organizationExposure to multi-state employment complianceWhat do we offer to ideal candidates?
