Full-Stack Developer — Internship Programme

About TakshilaTakshila is the world's first P2P co-fabrication platform, connecting customers, designers, and artisans to co-create unique original products, directly with each other, without any intermediaries. By combining AI-assisted design, on-demand artisan fabrication, transparent value chains, and blockchain-backed provenance, Takshila is redefining how digital shopping and craftsmanship are created, owned, and experienced. We believe people should be authors of what they own — not just consumers of what they buy.Our Engineering Team has launched a 6-Month Internship Programme for Full-Stack Development, open to candidates who can move across the entire stack — Laravel API to Next.js UI — and want to be present at the founding moment of a category that does not yet have a name. This is not a training project. It is not a sandbox with fake data. It is not a line on a CV. This programme exists because Takshila's production platform is being built right now — the API, the frontend, the infrastructure it runs on — and that work needs owners, not observers. You will work inside our real codebase, on our real Laravel backend and Next.js frontend, shipping features that go live. You will own things end-to-end — from database schema to polished UI, with an eye for production reliability. You will work directly with the engineering team and have regular check-ins with technical leadership. You will not be handed sanitised tickets. You will be handed real problems and expected to solve them. While this is an internship, outstanding performance may open doors to a full-time engineering role at Takshila, Inc.What You'll Work On•       Build and maintain REST APIs in Laravel (PHP 8.x) using Eloquent ORM, Sanctum authentication, and a service/repository architecture.•       Develop user-facing features in Next.js (App Router) / React, including Server Components, SSR data fetching, and Redux Toolkit state management.•       Integrate with AWS services (S3 for asset storage, CloudWatch for logging/monitoring) and third-party APIs (Pinata/IPFS, payment providers).•       Get exposure to our Node.js blockchain gateway service (ethers.js) for Web3/NFT-related features — not required on day one, but a genuine opportunity to grow into.•       Support deployment and maintenance of production services via PM2, GitHub Actions CI/CD, and nginx-fronted VPS environments.•       Help debug and resolve production incidents across the full stack — not just "it works on my machine."•       Write clean, typed, tested code and participate in real code review — giving and receiving it.Requirements•       Substantial hands-on experience with PHP and the Laravel framework — routing, middleware, Eloquent, queues, migrations — through internships, personal projects, freelance work, or open source.•       Solid experience with Next.js and React (hooks, component architecture, client vs. server components).•       Comfortable with Redux Toolkit or similar state management, and Tailwind CSS.•       Understanding of RESTful API design, authentication (token/session-based, e.g. Laravel Sanctum), and authorization (role/permission systems).•       Experience with relational databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and writing efficient queries.•       Familiarity with Git workflows, code review, and CI/CD pipelines.•       Comfortable reading server logs and diagnosing issues across frontend, backend, and infrastructure layers.•       Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science or a related field — or a track record that makes the degree irrelevant.Nice to Have•       Experience with AWS (S3, CloudWatch) or similar cloud infrastructure.•       Exposure to Web3/blockchain development (ethers.js, smart contract interaction).•       Experience with PM2, nginx, and Linux VPS deployment/administration.•       Familiarity with e-commerce or marketplace platforms.•       Experience with Spatie packages (permissions, roles) in Laravel. What We're Looking ForWe are looking for the top 1% — not by grades or internship history, but by the quality of your code, your obsession, and your willingness to own things that ship.•       Mission-obsessed, not resume-obsessed.•       A builder with a bias for shipping, not just prototyping.•       Self-directed, and genuinely comfortable with ambiguity.•       Accountable without ego — you own your bugs as much as your features.•       Technically sharp and genuinely curious about the full stack, not just one layer of it.•       Someone who sees Takshila's mission and thinks — I want to be part of this. What You GainDirect access to the engineering team and technical leadership — no manager layers, no filtered information. Real production code, real incidents, real users — not toy assignments. Deep exposure to building a full platform from the ground up: API design, frontend architecture, cloud infrastructure, and — as you grow into it — Web3 integration. A front-row seat at the intersection of AI, craftsmanship, and blockchain-backed commerce — one of the most consequential spaces in tech right now. This is a strictly unpaid internship. For the top performers, we are open to a full-time offer, or an ESOP-based position where you earn a stake in what you help build. How to ApplySend us your resume and a note — not a cover letter, a note. Tell us about the most interesting thing you've built end-to-end, from schema to UI. Tell us about a production bug you chased down and what it taught you. And tell us what you expect to walk away from this internship having built, learned, or unlocked.Email your application to: talent@takshila.co
