Web Developer (WordPress)

NOTE: Applicant must be able to work on location in Clive, Iowa. Job Brief Farmboy is looking for a highly motivated Web Developer with an advanced understanding of PHP and WordPress Development. The ideal candidate is a true self-starter capable of working in an autonomous environment with minimal supervision. Job Duties and Responsibilities Develop custom WordPress themes & plugins Participate in brainstorming sessions with clients to help articulate requirements, preferences, and expectations Maintain coding standards and brand guidelines/standards through implementation and deliver quality code Optimize web pages for maximum speed, SEO, and scalability Monitor the performance of the websites and conduct website performance tests Troubleshoot website performance and content issues Validate completed projects through a QA/QC process utilizing usability and accessibility-specific tests Act as a mentor to fellow developers Requirements and Qualifications Portfolio or GitHub link is required to apply Proven working experience in web programming 4+ years of experience with design, development, and maintenance of websites on the WordPress platform Expert knowledge of WordPress (Plugin / theme development / API), PHP, HTML, JavaScript, and CSS/SCSS Strong proficiency in the use of front-end (CSS/SCSS, JavaScript, HTML5, jQuery) and back-end (WordPress, PHP, MySQL) technologies Experience in creating custom plugins and themes with an understanding of WordPress hooks, filters, custom post types, and taxonomies An understanding of how to balance attention to detail with the need to work efficiently, be adaptable, and meet deadlines Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously A positive attitude, incredible creative ability, and a relentless drive for excellence Bonus: Utilizing and customizing Gutenberg Experienced with site launches (DNS, SSL, CDN, Site/Content Migration) Additional CMS experience Job Type: Full-time Pay: $35,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching Flexible schedule Paid time off Schedule: Monday to Friday Ability to commute/relocate: Clive, IA 50325: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required) Application Question(s): Your portfolio or GitHub link (required to be considered for an interview) Experience: Front-end development: 1 year (Preferred) WordPress: 1 year (Preferred) Work Location: In person
