Malone Healthcare - Nursing is seeking a travel Surgical First Assistant for a travel job in Urbana, Illinois.Job Description & RequirementsSpecialty: Surgical First AssistantDiscipline: Allied Health ProfessionalStart Date: 06/01/2026Duration: 12 weeks40 hours per weekShift: 10 hours, daysEmployment Type: TravelOperating Room & Technical SupportPerform scrubbing duties as required, including support for orthopedic and other surgical specialties.Assist with room setup and turnover to maintain efficient surgical workflow.Collaborate with surgeons and OR staff to ensure trays, instrumentation, implants, and supplies are available and prepared for procedures.Support inventory control, supply ordering, and supply chain management activities.Charge equipment and supplies accurately according to hospital procedures.Certified Surgical Assistant – Orthopedic SurgeryPosition SummaryThe Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) is an essential member of the perioperative team, providing direct assistance to surgeons during surgical procedures with a primary focus on Orthopedic surgeries. This role also supports operating room efficiency by functioning, when needed, as a first or second surgical technician or second circulator under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).
