This role requires extensive collaboration with Product Development and Manufacturing teams to ensure robust test strategies, high product quality, and efficient manufacturing processes.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesLead test engineering team members, providing direction and mentorship.Manage and foster strong collaboration with Product Development and Manufacturing to ensure alignment and seamless execution.Plan, prioritize, and assign work, ensuring alignment of resources such as tools, equipment, and parts.Define product quality criteria and test metrics for NPI and sustaining activities from both customer and manufacturing perspectives.Collaborate with Product Development to establish hardware and software validation test plans.Lead standardization of test and inspection standards to ensure performance and reliability of PCBAs and electromechanical assemblies.Participate in design reviews and recommend improvements based on Design for Testability (DFT) and Design for Manufacturability (DFM).Support capacity planning by assessing test and manufacturing capability relative to projected product volumes.Drive the development of functional test equipment, test software, fixtures, and procedures for both new and existing products.Maintain technical documentation and ensure compliance with company quality standardsEnsure timely completion of performance reviews and employee development plans.Adheres to MultiTech rules and policies and provide leadership through training and example.Perform other duties as assigned.Qualification RequirementsEducation and/or experience:BS in Manufacturing Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or degree in related field.2+ years of direct leadership experience.8+ years experience with validation or production test development for PCBA based electronics.Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills with proven ability to manage multiple projects.Exposure to, and demonstrated understanding of, design for manufacturing, assembly, testability, safety and reliability.Good technical documentation skills (test plans, test reports, flow charts, block diagrams, etc.)Good understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering fundamentals.Experience with creating and analyzing electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and mechanical drawings.Experience with programming and scripting languages for test automation (LabVIEW, C, C#, Python, etc.)Knowledge of wireless protocols (LoRaWAN, Bluetooth, cellular, NB-IoT, WiFi, etc.)Knowledge of communication interfaces (USB, I2C, SPI, UART, RS-232, RS-485, Ethernet, etc.)Familiar with use of lab equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, etc.)Knowledge of lean principles.Proven critical thinking and troubleshooting skills.Strong customer focus and commitment to quality.Physical DemandsLifting requirements up to 25 pounds.Requires sitting for periods of time and occasional standing.Use hands to finger, handle or feel.Reaching required.Work EnvironmentWorking conditions are normal for an office environment. Minimal noise. Our facility includes a manufacturing environment. Moderate noise level. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; safety glasses, hearing protection, wrist and shoe straps, and ESD smock. Loose fitting clothing and jewelry are not permitted. No food allowed in the manufacturing area.
