Afterschool Teacher — Full-Time *Location:* Gresham, Oregon *Schedule:* Monday–Friday, Full-Time *Starting Pay:* *$24.00 per hour* About the Position We are looking for a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic *Afterschool Teacher* to join our childcare center in Gresham, Oregon. The ideal candidate enjoys working with school-age children and is passionate about creating a safe, positive, and engaging environment where children can learn, play, and grow. We are especially interested in candidates who have a *degree or educational background in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Elementary Education, or a related field.* Responsibilities * Provide attentive and engaging supervision of school-age children * Plan and lead fun, age-appropriate educational and recreational activities * Create a safe, positive, and nurturing classroom environment * Support children's social, emotional, and academic development * Assist children with homework and school-related activities as appropriate * Maintain consistent classroom routines and expectations * Communicate professionally and positively with families and coworkers * Follow all childcare center policies, health and safety procedures, and state licensing requirements * Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom Required Qualifications * *At least 1 year of experience working in a certified/licensed childcare center* * *Must be enrolled in the Oregon Central Background Registry (CBR)* * Experience working with school-age children preferred * Must meet all applicable Oregon childcare employment and licensing requirements * Reliable, responsible, and dependable * Patient, positive, and enthusiastic when working with children * Strong communication and teamwork skills Preferred Qualifications * *Degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Elementary Education, or a related field* * Experience planning and implementing age-appropriate activities * Experience working in an afterschool or school-age program What We Offer * *Starting wage of $24.00 per hour* * *Full-time, Monday–Friday schedule* * *Health insurance benefits — employer pays 50% of the premium* * *IRA retirement plan with an employer match* * Supportive and professional childcare environment * Opportunity to make a meaningful difference in children's lives * Opportunities for professional growth and development If you are passionate about working with children and have at least one year of experience in a certified childcare center, we would love to hear from you! *Apply today to join our team!* Pay: From $24.00 per hour Benefits: * 401(k) * 401(k) matching * Health insurance * Retirement plan Application Question(s): * Are you able to pass a childcare background check?
