This role focuses on creating and maintaining bills of materials, drawings, and specifications while partnering closely with engineering, manufacturing, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products efficiently and cost-effectively.This position is well-suited for entry-level designers with a 2-year degree as well as experienced professionals with a 4-year degree looking to grow within a manufacturing environment.Key ResponsibilitiesCreate, revise, and maintain engineering documentation including bills of materials, routers, submittals, detailed drawings, revisions, and installation instructionsSupport manufacturing by resolving issues related to drawings, materials, and manufacturing methodsCollaborate with design engineering, marketing, manufacturing, and purchasing teams to support quality, innovation, and customer satisfactionFollow and help maintain standard processes, procedures, and engineering documentation practicesParticipate in special projects and cross-functional initiatives as neededAdapt to changing priorities, schedules, and deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentCommunicate technical ideas clearly and logically, both verbally and in writingAnalyze information methodically to support effective problem-solving and decision-makingEvaluate multiple solutions and work through obstacles efficientlyWork independently while also contributing effectively within a collaborative team environmentSupport Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen events, and continuous improvement activitiesPerform other duties as assignedQualifications* Associate's degree in Mechanical Design or related field required* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline preferred for more experienced candidatesStrong verbal and written communication skillsTechnical aptitude with an understanding of manufacturing processesProficiency with ERP systems, 3D modeling/CAD software, Microsoft Office, and other project-based software toolsAbility to communicate effectively across departments and levels of the organizationStrong attention to detail, accuracy, and qualitySolid problem-solving and analytical skillsWillingness and ability to learn new processes and adapt to changing work situationsDependable, team-oriented, and quality-focusedRole Leveling & Career ProgressionThis position may be filled at different levels based on the candidate's education, experience, and demonstrated capabilities.* Entry-Level Candidates (typically Associate's degree or early career):Focus on learning core design standards, documentation practices, and manufacturing processes. Responsibilities will emphasize supporting existing designs, creating and revising drawings and bills of materials, and collaborating with experienced designers and engineers while developing technical and problem-solving skills.* Experienced Candidates (typically Bachelor's degree and/or relevant industry experience):Take on broader responsibility for independent design work, complex documentation, and cross-functional problem-solving.
