Ophthalmic Technician II - Glaucoma, Westwood

DescriptionJoin a fast-paced, patient-focused Glaucoma Clinic in Westwood where you'll play a vital role in delivering high-quality ophthalmic care. In this hands-on position, you will work closely with Ophthalmologists to support both routine and complex glaucoma cases while helping ensure a seamless and efficient patient experience.Obtain and document detailed medical and ocular histories for patients with both routine and complex glaucoma-related conditionsPerform key diagnostic testing including visual acuity, autorefractometry, manual refraction, tonometry, keratometry, lensometry, pupillary assessment, and confrontational visual field testingAdminister ophthalmic medications, including dilating drops and topical anesthetics, following established protocolsPrepare patients for exams and actively assist Ophthalmologists during minor proceduresHelp maintain efficient clinic flow while ensuring accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record Salary Range: $37.35-49.28 Hourly QualificationsRequired:Ophthalmic Assistant certification (COA) by IJCAHPO.Knowledge of ophthalmic medical terminology, basic ocular anatomy, basic ocular physiology, common visual pathologies.Knowledge of common ophthalmic medication.Knowledge of ophthalmic equipment and sterilization techniques.Skill in acquiring accurate medical history, measuring and recording visual acuity, performing lensometry, refractometry, applanation tonometry, topography, visual fields, optical coherence tomography, fundus photos, biometry, fluorescein angiograph.B-Scans, Immersion A-Scans, proficient in Ellex CubedAbility to organize and prioritize duties to maximize clinic efficiency.Ability to work under pressure and manage a busy workload.Ability to work as a team member in an ophthalmic office setting.Excellent interpersonal skills.Ability to initiative and work on a self- directed basis with limited supervision.Ability to prioritize activities with conflicting deadlines.Knowledge of the operations and maintenance of patient testing equipment.Responsible, with ability to work in a detailed oriented manner.Ability to learn state of the art diagnostic equipment.Ability to order instruments and supplies.Preferred:Proficient in all aspects of Epic.
