Bilingual Medical Assistant

Job Description We are seeking a Bilingual Medical Assistant to become a part of our team! You will perform routine administrative and clinical assignments to keep the medical facility running smoothly.Responsibilities:Handle all administrative duties in a timely mannerPerform routine clinical tasks to support medical staffCommunicate with insurance companies for proper billing proceduresEscort patients to exam roomsQualifications:Previous experience in healthcare administration or other related fieldsFamiliarity with medical billing proceduresStrong organizational skillsAbility to thrive in a fast-paced environmentJob DescriptionJob Requirements:Must have Medical Assistant Certificate.Must speak Spanish and English fluently.Experience is a significant plus.Must be available to work the 11:00am to 6:00pm shift (one-hour break included).Multitasking effectively is a major requirement of this job.Job Description:Room patients, take vitals, and inform the clinicians of the arrival of the patient to the clinic; also keep him/her informed of those waiting to see him/herHave a discussion with patients to get information about their health history for use in filling the relevant forms patients need to completePrepare treatment rooms for doctors for them to be able to attend to patients in a conducive environmentGive direction to patients who need to go to the lab to perform tests; take test results to the pediatricianFile documents of patients' treatments for record purposes. This should be done by observing utmost confidentiality in respect of patients' privacy in line with the medical code of conduct guidelineAssist in scheduling patients' appointments with the pediatrician, and keep both the patient and his/her doctor updated on changes or cancellations of previous appointmentsCarry out tests and immunization on patients in line with the pediatrician's instructionsFacilitate patients' checking in and out of the clinicSupervise the work of cleaning staff and ensure that bedspreads are cleaned in accordance with the clinic's hygiene standard; also carry out pest control measures to prevent infectionsInspect clinic's equipment for damage and malfunctioning, to avoid setbacks during treatment proceduresDocument treatment activities in the clinic using the computerCollect patients' insurance information, verify, and send it to insurance companies when the need arises as evidence of patients' insurance claimsJob Types: Full-time, Part-timePay: $15-$17 per hour
