Work under supervision of a certified teacher.Qualifications:Education/Certification:High school diploma or GEDMust have 48 college hours or be considered highly qualified through completion of a state approved program.Valid Texas educational aide certificateSpecial Knowledge/Skills:Ability to work well with childrenAbility to communicate effectivelyExperience:Some experience working with childrenMajor Responsibilities and Duties:Instructional SupportAssist teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.Assist with administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignments.Help maintain a neat and orderly classroom.Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.Help teachers keep administrative records and prepare required reports.Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.Student ManagementConduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher; work with individual students or small groups.Help supervise students throughout the school day, inside and outside the classroom. This includes lunchroom, bus, and playground duty.Keep teachers informed of special needs or problems of individual students.Other1. Maintain confidentiality.2.
