Controls Technician

Job Summary We are seeking a Controls Technician to support the commissioning of HVAC and Building Automation Systems. This role involves point-to-point checkout, program downloads, troubleshooting, and completion of associated documentation. The technician will ensure systems are properly calibrated, commissioned, and compliant with safety standards while maintaining clear communication with customers and contractors. Key Responsibilities Perform assigned system commissioning using client configuration and commissioning tools Troubleshoot and resolve basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and controls issues Respond to warranty calls and provide timely resolutions Load system-level controller software and perform diagnostics from controllers to end devices (sensors, actuators, etc.) Complete all required commissioning documentation and maintain accurate records Calibrate systems using basic electronic test equipment Communicate job progress and issues to management, contractors, or customers Complete administrative tasks including time sheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation Document changes and provide information for as-built documentation Follow all safety standards and attend required safety training Required Qualifications De monstrated technical aptitude Ability to use hand and power tools (e.g., drills, saws) Basic computer skills Strong attention to detail Good communication and listening skills Depending on location, special licensing may be required for mounting and termination of low-voltage devices Preferred Qualifications (if any) Prior experience in HVAC or building automation system commissioning Certifications (if any) Relevant low-voltage or HVAC certifications (preferred, not required) Education: High School
