Senior Electrical Engineer

Sr. Electrical Engineer (Sustaining):Background: The Sr. Electrical Engineer will support sustaining engineering activities for released medical devices, with a focus on board-level electronics, embedded electrical systems, and integration within electromechanical assemblies. This role is centered on maintaining, improving, and extending the lifecycle of existing products to ensure reliability, manufacturability, compliance, and cost efficiency.The engineer will serve as a core team member, driving root cause investigations, implementing design improvements, supporting manufacturing and supplier changes, and ensuring continued regulatory compliance of released products.Project: Lead sustaining engineering efforts for released PCBAs and electrical systemsOwn and execute Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), deviations, and design updatesPerform root cause analysis of field returns, manufacturing failures, and reliability issuesTroubleshoot board-level designs, signal integrity issues, and system-level electrical problemsSupport component obsolescence management and alternative component qualificationDrive cost reduction, supplier transitions, and design-for-manufacturing improvementsDevelop and execute verification testing to support design changes and compliance requirementsCollaborate cross-functionally with Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teamsSupport CAPA investigations and corrective action implementationMaintain technical documentation including schematics, BOMs, risk files, and verification reportsProvide technical leadership and mentorship within the electrical engineering disciplineRequired Skills:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline3+ years of experience with PCBA design and board-level electronicsExperience in highly regulated industries (Medical Device, Automotive, Aerospace, etc.)Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skillsExperience supporting released products in a manufacturing environmentAbility to independently manage sustaining engineering projects
