As a Welder/Ironworker, you’ll fabricate and install structural steel components, interpret engineering drawings, and bring complex steel assemblies to life in the field. We work for our clients, and we work for one another.Here’s a Glimpse Into Your Day To DayInstall or fabricate metal pieces into columns, girders, or other structural frameworks Perform rigging, pipe support anchoring, and miscellaneous metals installation Read and understand blueprints and project layout Measure and cut metal parts to exact specifications Repair or replace existing steel parts of buildings and other structures Operate various metal forming and cutting machines such as Rollers, Shears, Iron Worker, Brakes, Drill Presses, and Saws. Operate tag lines, forklifts and other machinery to safely move metal pieces into position Clean and maintain all tools and equipment to ensure they remain in good condition Adhere to AWS D1.1 and other industry codes. Follow all industry and governmental regulations on safety protocols You’ll Be a Perfect Fit If You HaveHighschool diploma or equivalent Minimum of 1-3 years of experience working as a Welder and/or Ironworker within a relevant industry At minimum hold AWS D1.1 (limited) certification with the ability to obtain AWS D1.1 (unlimited) certification. Ability to read and interpret instructions and document, plan and perform work activities independently. Knowledge of how to handle metal properly Proficient in industry tools and equipment, such as hand and power tools and welding devices Apply shop mathematics to solve problems. OSHA 10 certification is required or ability to obtain certification. Ability to travel to local construction sites in Maryland, with occasional out of town travel to VA/DE/PA/NJ region. Physical RequirementsMust be able to remain in a stationary position as necessary to complete assigned tasks. The person in this position needs to frequently move about client’s facilities and offices to access equipment and complete tasks. Consistently ascend and descend portable and fixed ladders, scaffolding and other equipment used to reach equipment at various levels of height some of which maybe in excess of 25 feet in a safe manner. Must be able to ascend and descend a large quantity of stairways at any given time. Frequently move tools and equipment weighing up to 50lbs across client facilities as needed to complete tasks. Occasionally lift and move equipment in excess of 100lbs in a safe manner. Must be able to work in outdoor weather conditions as needed.
