Physician - Pathologist

Meritus Medical Center laboratory is recruiting/seeking a full-time AP/CP Board certified pathologist to join the current hospital employed/based group of 3 full time pathologists. Currently share 16,000 + and 2000 + annual general surgical pathology and non-gyn cytology specimens. NO GROSSING. NO AUTOPSIES. NO BONE MARROWS. NO PAPS. Candidates must be Board certified/Board eligible and able to secure Maryland medical license. We welcome applications from experienced pathologists and those currently finishing residency/fellowship training. Additional fellowship training is not required but appreciated. NOTE: If requested, various volunteer educational opportunities will exist through Meritus Osteopathic Medical School (1st graduating class is 2029)! The cases include predominately routine GI, GU, breast, GYN, ENT, lung and skin biopsies as well as larger associated general surgical resections. In addition, on call pathologist must be available for immediate assessments of frozen sections, occasional grossing issues and general pathology questions. Oversight of a clinical pathology department such as clinical chemistry, microbiology or hematology with initial assistance from the medical director will be included in the job responsibilities. NOTE: Transfusion medicine/blood bank, cytology and surgical pathology are currently covered. Our group is collegial and supportive and encourage intradepartmental reviews of difficult cases. Week nights and weekends call will be shared evenly (most calls can be taken from home). additional comments about the area * Meritus Medical Center is nestled in the mountains of Western Maryland and offer community health services to the tristate area. both small town and big city life!.
