Job SummaryKutak Rock LLP seeks an associate attorney to join its Public Finance practice in its Omaha office. Ideal candidates will have an interest in developing their knowledge and skills in a wide range of transactional matters involving municipal securities for state and local governments, housing developers, nonprofit organizations and other permitted borrowers. Qualified candidates with a minimum of two years of experience in public finance, real estate, lending, corporate finance or other transactional areas are encouraged to apply.Kutak Rock, a U.S. News and World Report rated "Best Companies to Work For: Law Firms", provides associates the opportunity to grow their legal career in a collegial and collaborative environment.ResponsibilitiesAn associate in the Public Finance department will work with partners, associates, staff and clients throughout the country in a busy practice involving a wide range of types of transactions and projects, including:Researching federal and state law, including local bond and real estate law, federal and state securities laws, and the Internal Revenue CodePreparing and reviewing transaction documents, including trust indentures, bond ordinances and resolutions, loan agreements, closing documents and opinionsPreparing and reviewing underwriting documents, including offering documents, purchase agreements and disclosure certificatesInteracting and communicating with clients and other transaction partiesQUALIFICATIONS: Skills and AbilitiesUnderstanding of different business entitiesExcellent oral and written communication skillsExceptional research and analytical skillsAbility and confidence to work independently and flexiblyStrong organizational and time management skillsCritical thinker and high attention to detailWork professionally and collaboratively with partners, associates, support staff and clients both locally and nationallyQUALIFICATIONS: Education and ExperienceCurrently admitted to practice in Nebraska with an active bar license in good standing or able to be admitted within one yearMinimum of 2 years of experience in public finance, real estate, lending, corporate finance or other transactional areasStrong academic recordPosition InformationStatus: ExemptWork Arrangement: Hybrid 4:1, with supervisor approvalBenefitsMedical, Dental, Vision, Life, Dependent Life, Disability, and Accidental Death & Dismemberment insurance.
