Position Type:Food Service/Baker/Cook Assistant Date Posted:4/3/2026 Location:Middle/High School Closing Date:Until Filled Position Available April 2026 Baker/Cook AssistantWindom Middle/High School7.25 Hours/DayPOSITION SUMMARY:Assist with food preparation, the serving of food, the washing of dishes and pans, and the general cleaning of the kitchen/serving area. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Be knowledgeable in all areas of food production including the ordering, preparing, serving techniques, and inventory procedures that meet the Child Nutrition Regulations created by the MDEA and the U.S.D.A. In the absence of the cook manager, be able to assume and carry out those duties Assist with setting up the serving lines and, when needed, with the preparing and serving of breakfast Assist with the checking of invoices and proper storage of the food when deliveries arrive Keep track of food products inventory and make the necessary comparison and adjustments with the weekly grocery order Keep the head cook and food service director informed as to the events and operations at the program level Perform other duties as necessary and assigned JOB REQUIREMENTS:High school diploma or GED required One to three years of experience in a school food service program preferred Minnesota certified food manager (CFM) license preferred or ability to obtain Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in a job-related field SALARY RANGE:Union contract hourly range based on education, experience, and qualifications: $17.61 - $20.98 APPLICATION PROCESS:Apply online: www.windom.k12.mn.us under Employment.
