BGE goes beyond competitive benefits to attract and retain the best in an environment that inspires excellence.Job Responsibilities:Read and interpret construction plans and maps (i.e., site plans, boundary plans, highway plans, profile and cross sections, horizontal and vertical curves, pipeline plans, foundation plans, and map contours)Directs and coordinates field work for a variety of standard types of surveysMay perform and/or check computations/construction plansTrain Rod Technician and Instrument Technician in the use and application of a Total Station, Robotic Total Station, Data Collectors and RTK GPSAccurately calculates and records field dataKeep, reduce, and check (for completeness and accuracy) neat and orderly field notes for standard surveying operations (i.e., leveling, traversing, topographic mapping, layout, as-built surveys, boundary surveys, and cross-section surveys)Enforce Company safety procedures and policies for survey field operationsImplement procedures for checking and verifying calibration of equipment being usedJob Requirements:High School Diploma or GED; Specialized vocational training is a plus.Minimum 1 year of experience as a Survey Party ChiefMust have a basic knowledge and understanding of construction plans and maps.Must have valid driver's licenseMust have a willingness and ability to lift 50 lbs, work outside for 8 to 10 hours per day, and walk 2 miles.Ability to communicate effectively with team members, co-workers, supervisors, and others.Some of our Benefits:401k Match: 100% up to 4% of your contributions with immediate vesting + 3% Safe Harbor Contribution with immediate vestingMerit-Based Bonus CompensationMedical, Dental, Vision Insurance; BGE contributes to HSA on eligible plans9 paid Holidays, including 3 Floating holidaysPersonal Time Allowances2 to 4 weeks of Vacation, depending on experience-level.
