Elementary TeacherForest Ridge AcademySchererville, INThird-Grade and Second-Grade Teacher Position Start Date: 2026-2027 school year Overview: Forest Ridge Academy is seeking full-time third-grade and second-grade instructors for our Lower School Program for the 2026-2027 academic year. The ideal candidate should bring positive energy, a collaborative attitude, a student-centered approach to the classroom, and a commitment to culturally responsive teaching practices to meet the needs of a diverse group of learners. Preference is given to candidates with prior teaching experience and designing curriculum, and those with a Master’s degree. FRA encourages ongoing professional growth and a strong interest in implementing new curricula and pedagogies aligned with highly effective teaching practices. Experience with a 1:1 iPad environment or the willingness to effectively integrate technology into the curriculum is preferred. Forest Ridge Academy is a small independent school located in Northwest Indiana. The third-grade and second-grade teachers are members of a collaborative faculty that adapts teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students’ needs and interests. Qualified instructors will use effective classroom management techniques to ensure a successful learning environment. The selected individuals will have the content knowledge and the pedagogical skills to engage students in high-quality learning experiences. Responsibilities: Deliver a rigorous curriculum within an interactive learning environment to provide exceptional results for all studentsProvide classroom leadership that creates an environment that promotes academic, as well as social-emotional, well-beingMonitor student progress and assist students in accomplishing established learning objectivesProvide timely feedback to students and their parents on coursework and progressEncourage students to develop their unique talents within the context of the classroomAttend course-specific professional development with a focus on improving student achievement Communicate with parents on an ongoing basis.
