LHH is working with a great law firm in San Diego that is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to support a busy civil litigation practice in San Diego, CA which will be onsite 5 days a week. This position supports a team of litigators on a very active desk, with primary support provided to the head of the litigation department. The environment is collaborative, relationship-focused, and low-ego. The team values professionalism, kindness, and accountability and is seeking someone who meshes well with those values.The role is a mix of legal assistant, light paralegal support, and reception responsibilities, making it ideal for someone senior, adaptable, and comfortable wearing multiple hats.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide high-level administrative and litigation support to four attorneys, with primary support to the head litigator.Assist with state, federal, and agency filings (state court filing experience required).Manage calendars, deadlines, and multiple active cases.Draft, revise, and file pleadings, correspondence, and other legal documents.Maintain and organize case files and documentation.Handle client communication professionally as a front-facing representative of the firm.Support reception duties as needed, including phones, mail, and office coordination.Work closely with attorneys and staff to ensure matters move efficiently and accurately.Qualifications3+ years of legal assistant experience in civil litigation (state filing experience strongly preferred).Experience supporting multiple attorneys in a fast-paced environment.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines.Professional, composed, and collaborative communication style.Comfortable being client-facing and representing the firm with confidence and polish.Senior-level experience is welcomed and viewed favorably.RoleLocation: Onsite 5 days a week in Downtown San Diego, CA.Full time permanent role.This posting is a representative sample of the types of roles we typically place with our clients.
