Project Executive
Verdex Construction is looking for a Project Executive to add to our Operations team to be part of our mission of "Building Something Better."
The Project Executive will be responsible for providing overall management for large projects, leading the project team, and ensuring key and successful customer relations, as well as assist operating group with winning work. This individual will have the ability to interact with a variety of staff at all levels in an ever-changing environment, remaining flexible, resourceful, proactive, and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
Essential Functions:
Ensure consistent performance, project delivery (preconstruction and construction) will exceed client expectations.
Arrange opportunities for personal interaction and networking of those that surround the client from architects, engineers, brokers, and other staff associated with and supporting the client.
Assist and manage proposal responses, schedule development, take the lead in outlining shortlist presentations of the team.
Provide leadership in business judgment and all financial and profitability aspects of projects under your jurisdiction.
Participate extensively in helping to acquire and define projects and develop budgets that will achieve profitability objectives considering project-specific challenges.
Provide oversight in managing all necessary resources throughout the entire project from start-up through closeout and ensure that the Owner’s expectations, budgetary and profitability objectives are exceeded
Ensure that the day-to-day operations of projects are transitioned effectively to Project.
Mentor, train, and coach staff to perform to or exceed set standards.
Assign appropriate Project Management Staff in association with the VP of Operations.
Ensure Turnover meeting occurs between Preconstruction and Operation teams.
Accurately manage the forecast of project performance.
Visit sites regularly to monitor project performance, schedule, and expenditures with project staff, highlight potential challenges and provide leadership in responding creatively to bring projects in on schedule and under budget, where feasible.
Attend all scheduled meetings as necessary to monitor and manage project profitability.
Mentor, train and become a trusted advisor for less-senior operations staff, interns and other staff members as required. Lead the training of newly hired project managers and participate in peer-to-peer mentoring and knowledge sharing.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational symposia; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies, etc.
Satisfactory completion of appropriate corporate training as related to the position and/or department.
Contributes to overall achievement by accomplishing related tasks and demonstrating characteristics that exemplify team building and support.

Requirement & Qualifications:
Fundamental knowledge of construction laws and methods as well as project accounting.
Capable of dealing with ambiguity and tight work oversight.
Leadership capabilities that motivate staff to exceed expectations.
Superior problem-solving skills together with the ability to confidently and decisively take the necessary actions to achieve strong project closeouts while maintaining positive team relations.
Ability to constantly multi-task and handle competing priorities, needs, as well as organizational issues.
Excellent communication and organizational skills, and attention to detail evidenced by a strong command of all applicable contract and legal provisions impacting profitability on assigned projects.
Judgment to know when to appropriately escalate issues up the chain of command.
Excellent diplomatic and communication skills, able to interact effectively with executive and the ability to handle and resolve conflict effectively in a firm but fair manner.
Ability to develop the confidence of clients to gain future project awards.
Strong attention to detail.
Knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and Procore.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Architecture or Engineering.
10 years of applicable field construction management experience (including supervisory skills) in multiunit and commercial markets.
OSHA 10/30 Certified
