Afterschool program teacher for K-1st grade

Job Summary Join our vibrant afterschool program team as a dedicated teacher for kindergarten and first-grade students! Duties Plan and implement age-appropriate educational activities that promote literacy, numeracy, creativity, and social skills for K-1 students Manage classroom behavior effectively using positive reinforcement and behavior management strategies Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times by adhering to health and safety protocols, including first aid procedures when necessary Foster a supportive environment that respects diverse backgrounds and individual needs, including those requiring special education accommodations Collaborate with parents, guardians, and fellow staff to monitor student progress and address any behavioral or developmental concerns Lead engaging recreational activities such as arts and crafts, sports, theater, or music to encourage physical activity and creative expression Maintain organized records of attendance, activities, and student development progress Skills Strong classroom management skills with the ability to maintain a positive learning environment Experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp, tutoring, or babysitting roles Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childhood development milestones Ability to implement behavior management techniques effectively First aid certification or willingness to obtain training prior to start date Familiarity with special education strategies to support diverse learners Excellent communication skills for collaborating with parents and team members Enthusiasm for engaging children through play-based learning, sports coaching, theater arts or other creative outlets Compassionate approach rooted in Christian counseling or similar values is a plus This position is ideal for passionate educators who are eager to inspire young minds while gaining valuable experience in early childhood education.
