In this role, you will support ICT, cybersecurity, network, and communications system design, addressing complex technical challenges across structured cabling, wireless/RF, network architecture, and plant communication platforms. A typical day may include developing design studies, preparing network evaluations, participating in project meetings, performing site walkdowns, or mentoring junior team members. We help you apply your skills to exciting and important projects.Project Success & LeadershipDevelop ICT/network design studies, define technical scopes, and create accurate engineering estimates to support successful project executionFoster a positive, goal‑oriented environment by providing technical leadership and empowering teams to excelParticipate in project meetings to discuss design progress, scope, schedule, and budget needsInnovative ICT & Network DesignBring fresh perspectives and innovative solutions to solve complex communication system challenges and advance project objectivesSupport architecture, design, and performance analysis for: Fiber‑optic and copper structured cabling systemsNetwork switching, routing, segmentation, and resiliency conceptsWireless/RF systems including Wi‑Fi, LMR/Radio, and DASVoice, video, paging/notification, and unified communications platformsAnalyze system requirements, evaluate equipment options, and contribute to specifications for communications/network infrastructureSupport the design, deployment, and optimization of directory services environments, including Active Directory architecture, Group Policy Object (GPO) strategy, and identity & access management (IAM) integrations to ensure secure, scalable, and compliant network operationsIntegrate cybersecurity‑aligned network practices into communication system designs, including secure segmentation, boundary definition, protocol hardening, and alignment with client cyber programs and regulatory requirementsCollaborate with cybersecurity, IT, and OT teams to ensure network and communications systems interface correctly with enterprise security platforms, including Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems, log aggregation pipelines, endpoint visibility tools, and vulnerability detection workflowsSupport planning and integration of IT Asset Management (ITAM) and Configuration Management Database (CMDB) systems as they relate to network infrastructure, communications equipment, lifecycle tracking, and configuration controlEnsure ICT/network infrastructure supports monitoring, alerting, and compliance requirements through proper logging, SNMP/telemetry configurations, syslog forwarding, and alignment with NIST/ISA/industry standards (as applicable)Precision Evaluations & Quality AssurancePerform network capacity analysis, RF modeling support, cabling/equipment load calculations, and communication pathway assessmentsExecute verification and peer reviews of engineering evaluations, design packages, and documentation prepared by other team membersPrepare high‑quality engineering deliverables and reports in accordance with industry codes, standards, regulatory expectations, client processes, and ENERCON Quality Assurance (QA) programsIndustry Expertise & MentoringMaintain up‑to‑date knowledge of ICT/telecommunications industry standards, secure network design best practices, wireless/RF technologies, and structured cabling standardsProvide guidance, instruction, and mentoring to less‑experienced engineers and specialistsClient & Proposal SupportSupport proposal development, including defining technical scope, estimating engineering hours, and identifying material or system requirementsTravel to client facilities to interface with site personnel and perform walkdowns of network, communications, and cabling infrastructure relevant to project scopeQualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, Information Systems, or related technical discipline — or equivalent industry training/experience6+ years of experience in ICT, network engineering, telecommunications, structured cabling, or related fields (varies by level)Experience in the design and analysis of communications or network systems such as: Enterprise or industrial network infrastructureCybersecurityFiber/copper structured cabling systemsWireless/RF/Wi‑Fi or radio/DAS systemsUnified communications, paging/notification, or related subsystemsStrong understanding of network or communications engineering fundamentals and their application in complex, multidisciplinary environmentsAbility to develop engineering drawings, specifications, calculations, and high‑quality documentationAbility to work with minimal supervision and provide technical guidance to support staffStrong written and oral communication skillsAbility to function effectively as an independent contributor and as part of a collaborative engineering teamAbility to travel 15–25%, depending on project or client needs. Industry credentials such as RCDD, CWNA/CWDP/CWNE, Security+, CASP+, CISSP, CISM, GIAC GCFW/GCIA/GSEC, ISA/IEC 62443 certifications, or other recognized network engineering and cybersecurity credentials preferredExperience working in regulated, industrial, power generation, or nuclear environments preferredFamiliarity with structured cabling standards (TIA/EIA), network design standards, RF modeling tools, and ICT‑related codes and guidelinesFamiliarity with Cyber security programs including NIST standards and NEI 08-09 controlsAbility and willingness to apply established technical knowledge to less‑familiar applications and emerging technologiesExperience in RF modeling using Ekahau, iBwave, AirMagnet, or other software platformsExperience developing design change packages, engineering studies, or construction/installation documentationCompensation RangeUSD $100,000.00 - USD $187,000.00 /Yr.Additional InformationENERCON Services, Inc.
