This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building structure in fast-moving environments and is excited to play a critical role in scaling a highly acquisitive business.You will work directly with acquired companies to standardize accounting processes, implement systems, and ensure a smooth transition into Cobalt’s financial infrastructure.ResponsibilitiesLead post-acquisition financial integrations, partnering directly with newly acquired businessesOwn chart of accounts mapping and alignment across entitiesPrepare and support opening balance sheets for each acquisitionLead system cutovers and ERP onboardingDrive month-end close improvements and standardization across portfolio companiesIdentify and remediate legacy accounting issues and process gaps at acquired businessesAssist in preparing purchase price allocation (PPA) schedules, including fair value adjustments and opening balance sheet entriesDevelop expertise in ASC 805 (purchase accounting) — no prior experience required, but willingness to learn is essentialPartner cross-functionally with deal, diligence, and accounting teams to ensure seamless integrationsIdeal CandidateDegree in accounting or finance8+ years of experience; public accounting and controller experience a plusCPA preferredExperience with M&A transactionsSignificant knowledge of GAAPProven ability to successfully manage multiple projects at the same timeExperience with a range of financial tech stack applications strongly preferredTeam oriented and excited to grow and scale a business over the next 5-10 yearsHigh learning agility and eagerness to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentUnquestionable integrityAbility to work proactively across multiple stakeholders; excellent communication skillsWillingness to travel up to 50%Compensation & BenefitsCobalt offers a comprehensive benefits package, including healthcare, 401k match, and flexible time off.
