This role ensures high-quality youth development programs, strong financial stewardship, effective staff leadership, and a motivated, engaged Board of Directors. The CEO plays a central role in creating great futures for the youth of our community.Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Organizational Management· Provide leadership to ensure effective operations and delivery of high-quality programs aligned with youth development outcomes.· Establish and maintain administrative and operational standards, policies, and procedures.· Promote a culture of safety, ensuring compliance with Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) membership requirements, industry standards, and regulatory expectations.· Oversee staffing activities including recruitment, training, supervision, and evaluation of paid and volunteer staff, including those in remote or multi-unit locations.· Foster a positive, mission-driven organizational culture that supports staff development, innovation, and operational excellence.Strategic Planning & Continuous Improvement· Lead and oversee a comprehensive strategic planning process that results in actionable, measurable goals.· Identify opportunities for organizational improvement and implement strategies to strengthen programs, operations, and community impact.· Translate strategic vision into operational execution, ensuring alignment across departments and initiatives.Board Governance & Development· Guide, support, and serve the Board of Directors in establishing goals, policies, budgets, and programs.· Ensure the Board is informed, engaged, and equipped to fulfill its governance responsibilities.· Identify, recruit, train, and develop effective Board members.· Support Board committees through staff liaisons and ensure they receive the information and resources needed to meet objectives.Resource Development & Financial Stewardship· Ensure the annual budget is fully funded and the organization maintains adequate cash flow.· Lead and support fundraising efforts, including donor cultivation, grant development, and innovative resource development strategies.· Oversee development of financial development plans and participate in donor meetings as needed.· Ensure sound financial management practices, compliance with applicable laws, and effective asset management, including financial and property resources.Technology & Infrastructure· Oversee development and implementation of technology plans to support efficient operations and data management.· Ensure acquisition, maintenance, and updating of technology resources and information systems.Community Engagement & Partnerships· Build and maintain strategic alliances with community leaders, local officials, schools, youth-serving organizations, and other partners.· Promote the Club’s mission, programs, and services to the community.· Represent the organization in public forums, media engagements, and community events.Marketing & Public Relations· Increase visibility and awareness of Club programs, services, and impact.· Ensure consistent, positive public relations and brand representation.· Support marketing strategies that strengthen community engagement and donor support.Additional Responsibilities· May be assigned special projects by the Board of Directors.· Maintain strong internal and external relationships with staff, volunteers, Club members, donors, parents, community groups, and partner organizations.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred.· Minimum 5–7 years of experience managing programs or operations in a nonprofit or Boys & Girls Club environment, including at least two years in a leadership role; or equivalent experience.· Demonstrated ability to organize, direct, plan, and coordinate operations in a multi-unit organization.· Proven experience working with and developing a Board of Directors.· Strong strategic planning and execution skills, with a track record of leading organizational change and growth.· Demonstrated success in fundraising, donor relations, and resource development.· Strong leadership skills including negotiation, problem solving, decision making, and delegation.· Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to speak persuasively to individuals and groups.· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Board members, staff, community groups, and partner agencies.· Knowledge of nonprofit management principles, youth development practices, and BGCA mission, policies, and programs preferred.· Basic to advanced knowledge of financial and asset management.Physical Requirements / Work EnvironmentThe CEO must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without reasonable accommodation, in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
