Coding and Robotics Instructor
*Job Overview*
We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Coding and Robotics Instructor to inspire and educate young learners ages 5-14 in coding, robotics, and technology. This part-time, hourly position offers the opportunity to foster creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills through engaging, hands-on activities. The ideal candidate brings energy, teaching experience, and a genuine love of working with kids to create a fun, inspiring learning environment.
*Duties*
* Design and deliver engaging coding and robotics lessons tailored to different age groups and skill levels
* Teach using block coding platforms and Python, and guide students through 3D design in Tinkercad
* Facilitate hands-on projects with Micro:bit, Arduino, and related robotics/electronics tools
* Supervise students during class, ensuring safety and positive behavior management
* Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere that supports each child's growth and confidence
* Collaborate with the Spark Lab team on curriculum ideas and lesson improvements
*Experience*
* Prior teaching or tutoring experience with children required
* Comfortable and enthusiastic working with kids ages 5-12
* Familiarity with block coding and/or Python
* Experience with Tinkercad, 3D modeling, or electronics (Micro:bit/Arduino) is a plus — full expertise across all areas not required
* Strong classroom management and communication skills
* Passion for teaching and youth development
*Schedule & Pay*
* Part-time, hourly; days/times vary
* $18/hour during a 3-month training/probation period, increasing to $20/hour afterward
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 2.0 – 10.0 per week
