Mason Tender

Overview We are seeking skilled Mason Tenders / Laborers to join our team. A Mason Laborer is an essential member of a construction team who provides support to skilled masons in various masonry projects. This entry-level role involves assisting with material handling, site preparation, and a range of tasks to ensure the successful completion of masonry work. Mason Laborers work under the guidance of experienced masons and contribute to the safe and efficient operation of construction projects. Key Responsibilities: 1. Material Handling: Transport construction materials, such as bricks, blocks, stone, mortar, and tools, to and from the job site. Assist in the loading and unloading of materials from vehicles or storage areas. 2. Site Preparation: Assist in setting up and organizing the work area, which may include assembling scaffolding, safety barriers, and other equipment. Keep the job site clean and organized by removing debris and waste materials. 3. Mixing Mortar and Materials: Prepare mortar and construction materials by mixing sand, cement, and water according to specific proportions. Ensure that mortar and materials are readily available for masons as needed. 4. Masonry Assistance: Hand tools and materials to skilled masons as required, helping to keep their work area well-supplied. Assist with tasks such as holding plumb lines, guiding the placement of bricks or blocks, and ensuring proper alignment and spacing. May operate a variety of hand and power tools. 5. Scaffolding: Assist in the erection and dismantling of scaffolding and safety equipment to provide masons with access to higher portions of the construction project. 6. Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and the job site to ensure a safe and organized work environment. Ensure that tools and equipment are in good working condition and report any issues promptly. 7. Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety guidelines, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety protocols on the job site. Identify and report safety hazards and participate in safety meetings and training as required. 8. Learning and Development: Learn from experienced laborers and masons and acquire the skills and knowledge needed to progress in the masonry field. Demonstrate a willingness to learn new skills and take direction from senior team members. Qualifications: · Strong physical fitness and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, kneeling, and working in various weather conditions. · A proactive and safety-conscious attitude. · Good teamwork and communication skills. · The ability to follow instructions and learn on the job. Working Conditions: · Mason Laborers typically work outdoors on construction sites, exposed to varying weather conditions. · The job may require heavy lifting and the use of safety gear. · Mason Laborers must comply with safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
