Assistant Financial Controller
Overview
As a Senior Accountant in Corporate – Regional Finance, you will lead close processes for the U.S. and Canadian entities and deliver accurate financial statements under U.S. GAAP. You’ll manage intercompany activity and maintain robust controls, while partnering with global Finance to align policies and reporting. You will tackle complex accounting issues, support audits, and drive process improvements and automation. This role suits a technically strong, collaborative leader who shapes financial governance in a fast-growing crypto environment.

ResponsibilitiesLead monthly, quarterly, and annual close for U.S. and Canadian entitiesReview and post journal entries, reconciliations, and flux analyses across multiple entitiesPrepare consolidated and standalone financial statements per U.S. GAAP with footnotesManage intercompany recharges, settlements, and eliminationsResearch and document positions on complex accounting issues (ASC 606/810/842, digital assets)Draft accounting policies and memos; present conclusions to Financial Controller and auditorsMonitor new accounting standards and assess impact on U.S. entitiesDesign and maintain internal controls over financial reportingSupport external audits; prepare schedules and respond to requestsPrepare regulatory filings (CFTC/NFA as applicable)Maintain workpapers and documentation for reported balancesOversee accounts payable operations and vendor managementImprove month-end reporting packs; support budgeting and variance analysisDrive process improvements and automation; support tax return preparationLead, develop, and retain a high-performing U.S. Accounting team; set goals and accountabilityCollaborate with Treasury, Compliance, Legal, and global Finance for governance and policy consistencyChampion automation and AI tools in accounting; build business cases for automation
Key requirementsBachelor's degree in Accounting or FinanceCPA designation (active)5–9 years of progressive accounting experience (public + industry)Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP; experience with technical accounting issuesExperience with multi-entity consolidations and intercompany accountingExperience supporting or managing external auditsProficiency with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) and advanced ExcelStrong attention to detail and ability to manage competing prioritiesExcellent written and verbal communicationDemonstrated leadership in managing and developing a teamstrong communicationleadershipattention to detailNetSuiteSAPOracle
